So here ends our Indian part of our journey, and we can certainly say its been an experience! There are so many things to love and hate about India. We have loved the way that everything seems to work here, things are done in a much more simple way (no health and safety regs seems to apply!) We have seen some breathtaking scenery and have noticed how important family life is here. We love the little communities we have seen particularly in the smaller places like Pushkar and Hampi. People in general are very helpful even with the language barrier, they are eager to talk to us! We thought it was quite funny when people wanted to have their picture taken with 'foreigners' aswell.
Some days we found India too much though, when its hot, smelly and dirty and you have rickshaw drivers, touts and beggars all hassling you at once - it leaves you feeling a bit drained! India is quite hard to understand aswell, it contrasts so much. In one street you can have a billboard advertising the latest mobile phone and beneath it you have a family living in a makeshift tent, a man is sitting in his new top of the range A/C four wheel drive in a traffic jam while a filthy little girl who should be in playschool wonders dangerously on her own between each car begging. Its a bit mad!!
Anyway we are glad we came to India, and would definatley come again (maybe with some anti-perv spray). We have found it heartbreaking, annoying, wonderful and smelly!!
Come on South East Asia....................
