The last open tour bus journey, thank goodness! We had one more breakdown on the way but it wasn't too bad. We arrived in Saigon in the evening and as soon as we got off a little old lady shouted cheap room at us so we followed her and the place she showed us wasn't bad at all! We went out almost immediately to get some food, we were staying in the main backpacker area and there were loads of restuarants and bars. We had a nice meal and while we were eating we go...

Well an early start from Dalat and a breakdown halfway down the hill made the journey although scenic, very painful. The bus just cut out and rolled to a gentle stop, the driver was in the engine tinkering around and I think it was something to do with the fuel pump. We finally made our way and we were both a bit anxious as we had a connection to make at Phan Rang. Another overnight bus journey took us to Nha Trang. There was another 'sick' incident on the bus...a rather tall and lanky legged french guy decided that he just couldn't get comfortable on the seat to sleep so he lay down in the aisle on a blanket, and dosed off. Well we've arrived in Hoi An after a fairly painless bus journey!!! We got dropped off in the town centre and had to find a room. There were moto drivers trying to assist people by guiding them to budget accomodation. We we're quite stubborn and decided to ignore all their freindly advice and hunt down one on our own. I think it took us nearly an hour and a half before we found a room, we were both soaked from the sweat. I think we both have cursed the open tour...
