Well we got to Agra fine on the train, it went on time and we even got breakfast! The journey was only about 2 hours. When we got there we tried to book an ongoing train ticket to Jaipur but really annoying bloke was pestering Kamran and trying to make us book something else so we left it. Got a autorickshaw to our hotel, the Hotel Sheela. Its literally a 2 minute walk away from the East Gate of the Taj Mahal. The Hotel seemed like heaven compared to what we had stayed in in Delhi, we could actually walk around the room!! There was a lovely garden aswell where we had a nice cold drink.
We went to the Taj Mahal in the afternoon, we walked through an archway and there in front of us was the Taj itself!! It is truely breathtaking to see with your own eyes, just so magnificent! I think we went a bit camera crazy and took too many pics!! We spent about three hours there just staring at it from different angles!
The next day we arranged to meet up with an autorickshaw driver so he could take us to some other sites in Agra. We went to the Baby Taj, which was nothing really compared to the real thing, but we did see some monkeys. We then got caught up in a mega traffic jam, with autorickshaws, cows, pigs, bikes and people which was quite amusing. We went to another old monument which was a bit of a wreck, and this old bloke rambled on about something to us in broken english and then of course wanted money for the privelege! We were then taken to the back of the Taj Mahal on the other side of the river (we both fell over a big pole haha), then we were taken to a poxy shop where a bloke tried to flog us marble coffee tables, he didnt understand that we couldnt fit them in our backpacks! He also claimed he knew Kams dad by saying he knows a Mr Khan in Lahore that lives by a mosque...I guess theres a few thousand Mr Khans in Lahore!!!! We are getting a bit tired of people trying to take us for a ride and ripping us off! But I guess we are slowly learning their tricks, and hopefully will be able to ignore them in the future.
We then went on to the Agra fort where you can get a really good view of the Taj, we spent a few hours here just chilling out. We decided we will brave the bus for the next part of our journey to Jaipur and our driver took us to this scary man who booked ticket for us, he seemed to be completely out of it and we were a bit worried if the ticket he booked was kosher!
In the evening we had a nice spinach and potato curry and met a nice bloke from Weymouth who was travelling on his own, we have arranged to meet up with him in Jaipur. We are still ok and no runny poo as yet!!!!!
