Basing ourselves in Port Gregory, it was an hour or so drive up the highway to the coastal town of Kalbarri. It was an early start for us as Tara had booked an eyebrow wax for 8:45am… Larry wasn't impressed as he couldn't even find a car wash to keep him and Tristan occupied! Vic (Linga Longa) told us about 14,000 times to check out all the coast lookouts on the LEFT, he wasn't wrong. After Tara's beauty regime, it was off to Kalbarri National Park.
The long and sandy track into the main gorge was beautiful in itself, but the view at the end of 'Natures Window' and the stunning view through the window was well worth it. After a quick drink and an orange, it was back to Larry who took us to the Z-Bend Gorge. The 3km hike to the bottom of the gorge was pretty difficult at times (ladder climbs and scaling rocks included!) but the views and feeling at the bottom was well worth the effort.
Kalbarri…it was an absolute pleasure- we wish we could have explored longer!
