Not a bad night sleep for me though awake from 5am so enjoyed watching the sun rise. The colour of the sky changing from yellow to pinks to purple over the sea and monastery. Another Cretan adventure, this time a chill out bonus 12 nights instead of a week camping back in England. We choose destinations for the beaches and a city we have not visited. Accommodation is chosen for its locality close to Elafonisi and Balos Lagoons. 23/9/17 Home Time We chilled by the pool until it was time to leave for Iraklion for our evening flight home. Our hosts lent us a hose to wash the car down as it was more red than white from the ride up the mountain! Spent an hour so in the museum which was great as we had visited a lot of the areas where pieces had been found. All in all, a fabulous holiday with all our accommodations exceeding our expectations. 22/9/17 Gortyna Archaeological site & stressful drive! One site we have not been to on previous trips and it is well worth a visit and small payment.
