The sun streamed through the cracks in my curtains at about 5:30am and I realised I am still waking up at the crack of dawn, every morning. I opened the curtains and looked out to greet Aswan, I saw the dawn over the River Nile, the river sparkled in the sunlight as the dawn slowly crept over the small islands, reeds and temples, it was one of the most beautiful sights I had ever seen. I sighed and thought, this is one thing I truly will miss, and hobbled to my bag to get dressed.
We got picked up from the Basma hotel at 8:30am and taken to the airport to wait for our flight. It actually left on time, no I will correct that, it actually left early! I've never been on a flight that left early before, go Egyptair!
We got to Cairo an hour later and our transfer from the hotel was waiting for us. He took us into Downtown and I sent Mum and Dad up in the decrepit lift first, giggling to myself. As usual I was welcomed back like an old friend by the people at the Ramses II hotel and shown to my room. I got my parents settled and organised a trip out to Dashur for tomorrow as well at the sound and light show for the evening.
We went out and got some McDonalds, which is only across the street and then went for a walk around Downtown. We came back and had a bit of a rest before getting ready to go to the sound and light show.
The Sound and Light show at the pyramids was amazing! I was really dramatic and very historically accurate. It was spectacular how they made the pyramids change colour and the Sphinx tell the story.
We went out for dinner after at Felfela and Mum spilt beer all over her feet. We walked back to the hotel from the restaurant through Downtown in the middle of the night.
