Day 73. Today we headed further south to Perth, our biggest city since Darwin. All along the coast we saw massive white sandhills, distant blue water and golden wattle wildflowers covering the sandhills. A huge expanse of grass trees (xantheria) really impressed us and we stopped several times for photos. We detoured into small seaside village of Lancelin for a break and then onto the northern Perth suburbs, arriving around lunchtime. We are staying for five nights at the Karrinyup Waters Resort and CP on North Beach Road, only a few kilometres from the coast. After setting up our van we drove down to North Beach and then along the coast to South Trigg Beach, so much life and activity late afternoon with surfers, joggers, walkers and happy people all along the white sandy beaches. Back at the van after a brilliant sunset we cooked a delicious meal of pork medallions with garlic and rosemary in an orange sauce with potatoes and greens. Drove 250km, fine sunny day 22 degrees. We heard about the floods and snow in southern NSW!
