Day 79. First day of Spring and the weather is looking good for today after a little rain overnight and down to 3 degrees! Today we are doing a half day trip to Cape Naturaliste. Through the small village of Dunsborough and we were soon entering the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park. We were amazed at the expanses of white arum lillies in the fields and under the trees. Walked up to the old lighthouse built in 1904 and still operating, lots of coastal wildflowers about. Views on one side the wild Indian Ocean and the other side calm Geographe Bay. A short drive down to white sandy Bunker Bay, then Sugarloaf Rock and Eagle Bay and breathtakingly beautiful blue azure Meelup Beach for a walk on the fine white sandy beach. Next back to the other side of the Cape to wild sweeping Yallingup Beach frequented by surfers. Picnic lunch in the park overlooking the beach, huge waves rolling in. Back to Dunsborough for afternoon tea and then onto Busselton for a train ride out to the end of the 1.8km heritage jetty. Back at our van park we took a late afternoon swim in the lovely indoor heated rockpool at 28 degrees. Dinner tonight baked whiting in bread crumbs with veges and corn. Drove 110km, cool 15 degrees, windy.
