Day 78. Rained lightly overnight and in the morning we set off down south on the Mitchell and Kwinana Freeways past the towers of Perth City towards the wet green South West for our next adventure. Past Rockingham, Mandurah and Bunbury until we reached the small city of Busselton on Geographe Bay. A few kilometres outside the city centre we checked into the beautiful green leafy Mandalay Resort and CP right on the white sandy beach, the best park we have stayed in. It even has an indoor heated pool at 28 degrees which we will make use of over the next 4 days! We have decided to make this our base while exploring the two capes and lighthouses, the wineries of the Margaret River region and the tall timber country inland. After the rain showers passed we visited the 1.8km jetty, the longest timber jetty in the Southern Hemisphere - and the pretty city centre. Dinner tonight a barbecued chicken with home baked sweet potato chips and veges. Drove 240km, cool mild day 19 degrees, we are snug in our van tonight - outside 9 degrees - we have our heater on for the first time in over two months!
