Leaving Stewart, we stopped to admire the Bear Glacier and take more photos, then drove back to join Hwy 37 at Meziadin Junction. Lunch there was interesting - the restaurant/cookhouse had rows of bunkhouse trailers out back and was definitely cookhouse décor inside. Good food, though! I saw one black bear running for the trees as we drove on up Hwy 37 but no other wildlife. Continuing up Hwy 37, we passed over the Arctic/Pacific Divide. The river just south of Dease Lake runs into the Stikine River which runs west into the Pacific Ocean. Dease Lake empties into the Dease and Liard Rivers, which eventually spill into the Arctic Ocean.

After carefully studying the listings for campgrounds in the Dease Lake area, I chose the Waters Edge because it had Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, that is all it had - no electric, no water. Guess I have to read the fine print more carefully - never thought of Wi-Fi without the other hookups. (Service is by satellite here.) Instead of a laundry day, we just hung out - literally, as the end of our trailer extended over the bank. I stayed away from that end even though we were still connected to the truck. Next morning, off to the Yukon!
