Moving towards the Rockies, we detoured to visit the Head-Smashed-In-Buffalo-Jump Interpretive Centre. The attractive buildings are designed to blend in with the foothills that surround them. The displays are extremely well done and informative about the way the buffalo were driven off the cliffs to sustain the native tribes with their hides and meat.

Despite the title, we were in Nanton and Claresholm, not High River. This website requires a map location and these two towns are not in their system. The RV Park in Claresholm was a great central location to visit more of Pat's cousins. Larry and Mariam joined us for a couple of meals and we had a nice visit. Arrived in Calgary Sept 30 and had a good visit with Pat's cousin Marlene and partner Andrew, along with Marlene's sister Dee. Unfortunately, we were unable to connect with nephew Brad and his bride Chelsea but were able to have a phone visit anyway. We were able to get some necessary work done on the trailer brakes here so we could continue on our travels. On Oct 3, it snowed a bit in the morning - and we had the AC on the previous day!

Leaving Hinton, we spent a couple of nights in Leduc visiting family - brother Gerald and his wife Irma, their daughters Holly and Lisa along with Lisa's husband Sean and children Ariana and Owen. Leaving Grande Prairie, we headed for Hinton where son Bryan lives with his wife Jen and children Ken and Lauren. We found a KOA just outside town so we were close enough to visit easily. While we were there, Bryan and Ken came out and helped Pat install the levelling system we had purchased for our fifth wheel trailer. It really makes a difference.
