Well, we did it! We sold our 4 bedroom 3 bathroom house in Duncan on Vancouver Island and are living in our new fifth wheel trailer. All of our furniture and assorted 'stuff' is in a storage facility in Kelowna. We spent a week going back and forth between trailer and locker finalizing what we wanted to have with us as we travel - harder to decide than it sounds! Some things we wanted to have with us are buried somewhere in the locker (like the charger blocks and cords for iPad, iPhone, kindle etc.) and we will just replace or do without them.

We made a conscious decision not to have a schedule or plan. We'll be traveling around BC and Alberta for the next couple of months and then may go south for the winter.

Our road trip began yesterday, August 3rd, when we left Kelowna and stopped in Merritt for a visit with son Russ and family. Off again, we travelled to Kamloops where we are staying in an rv park just east of town. It was quite hot yesterday and got smokey towards dusk.

More visiting on the agenda over the next few days as we catch up with family and friends in the area.

We had some great visits with my cousin Sue (and her adorable grandson), Pat's cousin Brian (and wife Linda) as well as brother-in-law Fred and his wife Dona. We also had lunch with friends Bev and Clark and saw their new home.
