We went to Josephine Falls this morning which was a beautiful and fun place but not suitable for young children. Matt and I took turns going down the rock slide into the freezing cold water. After landing in the icy water for the first time I thought it was too cold to do again but I quickly warmed up again and wanted to go a few more times.

After a short time here we went up the road to Babinda Boulders. The swimming area was busy with canoeists so we went to the rocky area where there were small pools of water for the kids.


The kids were tired so we put them in the car and took turns on the 600m walk to the lookouts which looked magical. They looked very unique and it's a shame you can’t swim there but I can see how you could easily get in danger here.

We drove into Cairns looking for our next camp. The original plan was to stay at the Big4 but it ended up being quite expensive so we chose another place and Matt went to look around after the offer from the manager. All I can say is that after sitting in the car watching everyone walk past I was very glad to hear Matt hadn’t paid yet when he returned to the car. So we returned to the Big4 happy to pay the extra money.

The service was great from the start and they took all of us on a tour around the park in a buggy with a huge turtle on the roof :-) The kids had a great time at the electronic playground and toddler playground.
