Today we went on a tour down to the Canyon Sumidero. What a magnificent place!!
But let's start back at the beginning!! Our tour guide was late... And once we got picked up the reason became very apparent!! There was a Mexican couple in the back, and the girl spent most of the hour drive finishing off her makeup!! Plucking eyebrows, applying two coats of mascara, yep safe to say she was the hold up this morning!!
So I was shot gunned into the front seat and sat between the two tour guides! The view, very interesting.... a windscreen that had more cracks in it than a whip!! As we ran around picking up the last couple of people for the tour, it was as if the two guys were playing spot the hotel that the guests were staying at!! Lots of pointing and I can only imagine them saying 'there it is'. Next second we ran out of seats so one of the guys jumps out and a tourist jumps in next to me and off we go!! We just left him behind! Now we are really off!!
So the driver starts going down the hill and puts on his seat belt... Yep this is my queue!! Apply seat belt!! Hahahahaha, you guessed it, no seatbelt to apply!! Oh well, here we go again!! Now the mini bus driver, well let's just call him snoozy, may have had a big night out last night as the entire way down the hill, he was rubbing his eyes, shutting his eyes continuously and yawning!! My entire trip to the canyon I was hatching a plan of what I was going I do if snoozy actually decided to catch some zzzzz's while the bus was still moving!!
We arrived safe at the canyon, and boarded a boat and we were sailing!! These canyons were amazing, and even got to see some native fauna, including a spider monkey, an eagle, lots of water birds and a crocodile!!
Then it was back on the bus, where snoozy had obviously had a power nap!!
This afternoon is just going to be a lazy day, sitting in the courtyard sunning myself!! It's amazing that we hadn't had wifi for a couple of days here, and all of a sudden out of nowhere it just started working!! So now I can enjoying catching up on some messages and FB!!
