After the longest.... And I mean longest flight in the world I have finally made it to the land of the massive soft drink cups!!! I seriously sweated out about 2 litres of bullets firstly trying to clear US customs and then trying to clear US security to make my connecting flight... As you could imagine I needed to do a little rehydration!!! So I asked for a small soft drink.... What was presented before me was ridiculous! They seriously gave me a cup bigger than my head.... Trust me even my mum would be impressed with how big that serving was!!
So the flight felt as long as the 15.5 hrs sounds!! I tried to watch a few movies as that made the time go faster, and also managed to get all of about 30mins sleep!! So as you can imagine I'm feeling pretty sparky right now.... Not!!
Customs was just scary!! I've seen enough episodes of border patrol to realise it doesn't take much to score a one-on-one session with a border protection officer and a glove!! I also came to realise how dodgy a single female travelling to Mexico may sound to customs!!! After bonding with my customs officer... Ok so maybe it was more like me trying to justify that going to Mexico is not dodgy... Is it?? I was through!!
I was also very impressed that my bag came out on to the carousel in one piece, it hadn't been cracked open with all my bras and undies doing laps on the carousel!! All I can say, is thank god customs didn't make me open my bag!!! Seriously, completing a Rubik's cube would be easier than repacking my bad boy!!
Next step... Security!! (Insert long sigh here) let's just say I got through!!!
Now I wait for my next flight! Bring on a bed!!! I have been up for over 24 hours now... 17hrs of flight time under my belt.... 2.5 hours to go!!! Apart from the nerves of facing the authorities that are here in the US, I am still feeling good about my trip!! Not nervous!!
