I finally made it to Mexico after my plane was delayed by 3 hours! The announcement that no-one wants to hear... Your plane has been delayed for a minor maintenance issue.... Hmmmm, again I've seen more than enough episodes of air investigations to realise that minor maintenance can be major!! But again my lucky travel charm payed off and they brought in a replacement plane!! Yay!!
This morning I woke up to actually see the view from my hotel.... Prime location across the street from Mexico's main square!!
I actually ate breakfast across from the cathedral!! Stunning!! What are the chances of a mariachi version of a crowded house song being played while you eat your breakfast in Mexico City I hear you asking.... Pretty good, as that was what playing this morning!!
Today I have spent the day learning about the history of this amazing country!! My brain is fried!!!
A quick trip to the Basilica de Guadalupe, the pyramids of Teotihuacan and then a one on one guided tour of the city!
I climbed both the pyramid of the sun and the pyramid of the moon, and let me just say that the 2 flights of stairs I climb at work everyday did nothing to prepare me for this!! Reebok step is chump change compared to this bad boy!! I am still amazed I didn't have to break out CPR on a few people climbing!! My one suggestion Mexico.... Install a defibrillator at the top of the pyramid!!!
