Today I explored the south of Mexico City, taking a short taxi ride to Coyoacan!
I started off with a bit of culture at the Frida Kahlo Museum, which was great to explore!! After seeing the portraits of Frida, I am no longer concerned about my mono-brow as she takes the crown!!! But she is an amazing woman who had sparkled her way through life with a disability! She never complained about it, just represented her pain through her paintings! Very inspiring!
I then walked my way through this area!!
There were lots of beautiful parks that I walked my way round, plenty of churches (sorry Adelaide I think you have lost you title as the city of churches, as right now Mexico City is whooping your butt!!). I had my first encounter with a squirrel today... I thought they were cute until they started running at me!! It was at that time that I realised my elation of having my rabies shots before I left!! When I do think about it, my toes do look a lot like unshelled peanuts!!!
I have to say this about Mexico... A lot of people were concerned about me going on this trip by myself.... The only time I have ever felt unsafe was when those darn squirrels were chasing me!! Everyone has been super nice... Especially as I can't speak Spanish!!
