Another day in Mexico City!! After it rained almost constantly all last night I was a little worried that today may not be the best weather wise!! Again I was wrong!! Blue skies and a comfortable 26 degrees!! I'm a happy woman!!
Last time I was in Mexico City, I wanted to go to the museum of anthropology!! But of course the museum is shut on Mondays, so I wanted to make a point of going today!!
The walk from my hotel took about 45mins to 1hr!! It was made a bit easier by the fact that there was a fun run on... And the main drag was shut off to cars!!
The museum is free on Sundays... For locals only that is!! But in saying that entry is cheap!! Costs about $5 Aus! I also rented an English audio guide!! It was worth it's weight in gold!! The museum was amazing!!! World class!!
After I finished at the museum... I walked across to the gardens (across the street)!! It was like a carnival!! The footpaths were filled with food carts!! You name it everything from Mexican food to fairy floss!! I walked round the parks... And briefly thought about going to the Mexican zoo!! Now Mexico City has 24 million people in the city... and I reckon 20 million of them were trying to get into the zoo!! I took this as a sign... Maybe it was saying that I wouldn't have liked the way the animals were being treated!! Instead I took a brief walk around the botanical gardens!! I had a good look at the cactus section!! Considering I haven't actually seen a cactus growing out in the wild yet... Thought I better get a photo just in case!!
Anyway... I walked back to the hotel, to find my roommate there!! Another Aussie!! Woohoo!! She seems normal too!!! Although I haven't checked her bag for an axe!! However, she did just fly in from the US, so I'm assuming I'm safe!!! Looks like it's going to be alright!! I will meet the rest of the gang in about half an hour.... Let's see what they have to bring!!!
