Today I did a city tour of Acapulco!
I was picked up by my tour guide at 10am, however we had to wait for 10 mins as his microphone was broken and a new one was arriving!! Hmmmm, remind me again why do we need a microphone for a mini-van of 7 people?!?! Can't he just talk loud??? Anyway the new microphone turns up... and wouldn't you know it, the jack was the wrong size and was useless anyway!! So in the end the tour guide just talked to the bus.... Who would have thought that talking to the bus would work???
We got to see the old Acapulco, the new Acapulco and the exclusive Acapulco!! So the exclusive Acapulco is like the Beverley hills of Acapulco!! People like Ricky Martin and a whole heap of Mexican superstars live there!! I would love to give you their names but I thought the tour guide was speaking in Spanish so I tuned out!! Turns out he was actually talking to me... As always I just nod and smile saying 'si'.
Turns out the Mexicans and the australians have a very similar sense of humour!! The tour guide was translating some of my jokes for the rest of the tour crew... And they were all laughing!! They even wanted me in their photos at all of the attractions!! Hahahaha, I now know the perils of being famous!!
I also went and saw the cliff divers today!! Now these guys have balls of steel!!! I can't even imagine what ridiculous amounts of tequila they need to consume before each of their shows in order to do that!! Amazing!! Can I just say, there is no way Elvis Presley did that for his movie!! Just putting it out there!!
I then came back to the hotel... Where again I spent the afternoon soaking up the rays in the adults only pool!!
One thing I do have to say is:
Acapulco sun 1: 30+sunscreen 0. Yep... Even with applying sunscreen every hour the sun has won this battle!! Thank goodness it's not too bad!! I haven't made it to blisterville!
