Day 2 Pukenui to Broadwood 99km. Sunny. Headwind. Red noses. Sore butts. Everyone friendly & chatty. Second encounters with a Frenchman & Japanese woman 4 years on the road (in a van) from running race to running race & 2 young farmers from Somerset. Picnic lunch on 90 mile beach at Ahipara. Freecamped behind the football pitch in a lovely wooded streamside glade. Possums shrieked alarmingly through the night.
