Mark And Jan's Tandem Tour Of New Zealand 2010
Day 10 Tapapakanga to Waihi Beach 106km
The first 60 or so km were flat without much to say for themselves. We sped through Paeroa (home of L&P apparently a drink well known in NZ, Lemon and Paeroa) stopping only to try it (sweet and lemony) before heading on. We had been warned repeatedly to avoid the Karangahake Gorge because of it's narrowness and general danger so we wobbled our way along an old railway track turned into a series of walks. It was lovely. It meandered along a river where we stopped to swim and read and sunbathe. Then onto Waihi, a goldmining town before heading on to the beach town for a well earned pizza.
Planning a shorter day tomorrow....

ruth matthews Well, probably a tad warner there than it is here. Wish I could post a picture as me and Holly got in work early this am and made a Rosmellyn Snowman on the grass out the front! Have a lovely time xxx
