What a nice day! Finally weather has cleared and it is nice all day..no clouds in site! The Salty Dog gave us a hot breakfast...second in our whole trip! We enjoyed breakfast and chatting with the proprietor....then off to Snells beach to walk for an hour along the lovely path next to the beach. Then off to the apparently biggest markets in NZ...they are so different from ours...no clothes...lots and lots of takeaway food..creeps, whitebait fritters, pippi fritters, coffee, etc plus fresh fruit and veggies...quite small...almost bought a chandelier but resisted...off to Warkworth to a Kauri museum...yet again....in the middle of nowhere...technology would not take my credit card so we could not get in! Oh well had a good look around outside including an 800 year old kauri tree...Fred looks like a pimple against it! Then off to Orewa for lunch...quite like Mooloolaba...restaurants across from beach...beaut Mediterranean salad! Fred had pancakes! Then a walk along beach to get rid of pancakes....then off to Auckland to our hotel. Found it well, checked in, filled up with petrol and took car back....so much difficult driving in NZ so was relieved that the car got back safe and sound! We then walked to the wharf, had a drink and walked back to our hotel...1/2 hour all up hill...Fred is beat! A shower, watch news and out for dinner...very nice day!
