Well woke up this morning and our hostess told us all ferries were cancelled...however we got an email saying that 2 pm may still go! Well we got to ferry terminal and they said still maybe...announcement to be made at 10am...went to see cR rental to explain situation as we may have needed car an extra day here and a day less over there...they were very obliging....just said come back when you know and we will sort it out....so we hung around till 10:30 at which time they issued us a ticket but said nothing would be confirmed till noon....noon came and they announced we were on....so we got upgraded to premier lounge which was nice! But hostess said it would be a rough trip...6 metre swells and 120 knot winds still at Wellington! Now just pulling into Wellington...rough trip but not as bad as expected...only 5 meter waves, we must have sea legs....ice they gave out helped I think....we got free upgrade to premium lounge so that was nice too....could not get outside to view as was soaking wet with waves but not a bad trip....hope we are leaving bad weather behind us! Well we arrived at Wellington quite late...say 6:30 by the time we got out and got our luggage....it was pouring rain...we were going to do a bay walk but you could not see the bay for waves so we drove on to masterton where we booked a hotel from the ship....when we got there we went for a walk along waterfront but was cold and dreary so headed back to hotel... We found a great place just outside Masterdon....huge complex..obviously caters for business functions...they had a room, a restaurant, a pool, gym and lounge room with open fire...very nice...so we booked in for night...walk from our room to reception was 15 minutes but all thru internal corridors!
