Well today was our trip from Napier to Lake Taupo .... We got up rather late, had brekky, the day was sunny and nice, went to tour the Art Deco town...as Napier suffered from an earthquake in 1938 and the town was rebuilt in that era...pretty town...went to beach again....very black rocky beach but looked so much better than yesterday.....lots of interesting things to do along beach like art stages, kids bike ramps, flowere gardens, etc....but somewhat bare and not pretty....went up to mountain view point which was good! saw the huge swell come in, the cruise boat being loaded and of course as in all areas here the huge pine timber yard! Then we took the road to lake Taupo....beautiful drive through mountains...lots of pine forests and trucks carrying lumber....very windy roads....so funny seeing guys dying to pass us and doing so only to catch up with them a few km on when they got stuck behind a truck or road works! Drove into Lake Taupo and it was a beautiful day and beautiful weather....too early to check in so went and had lunch across from beach and toured the main streets...quite a big shopping area...Fred had a hair cut...I found a golf shop that sold rain coats that you can remove sleeves and hood...perfect....and purple my favourite colour!!, Better play more golf now!!, Went to our time share which is fabulous....right on lake...our room has a huge lawn out front before the walk way along the lake...a BBQ and outdoor table out back, a view to die for from bedroom ....just perfect....Fred wants to just stay here without moving all week....we will see about that! We went to town for some shopping, I had a swim in pool and a spa, watched news, had a BBQ dinner and Fred beat me 2 of 3 games of crib...he just had all the cards...not fair as I did 3 loads of wash and dry, unpacked all our stuff, did the cooking and shopping....how come the gods didn't let me win???? ....
