Got up and decided to do the hop on hop off bus....great way to see the city without driving! Actually after being in bribie for two years I found the bustle of Auckland a bit much! So hard to believe from someone who lived in Sydney for 35 years! We were told Auckland was voted in the top few cities world wide for the best place to live....it is also the city with more boats per capita than anywhere else in the world! The yacht clubs are huge and there are lots of them! Totally understandable as the harbour is big and beautiful! Our first stop was bastion Point lookout...a memorial gardens dedicated to NZ PM of 1930....great view of city and we walked 30 minutes along harbour to aquarium where we picked up bus again! Then we spent a few hours at the zoo enjoying the kiwi, the orangutang and the animals in general.....back to bus and went to Parnell Village (Bill Clinton's favourite) for lunch and walk thru shops....then to sky city to take a lift to 328 metres high...great views....went on one floor then up 6 floors, then evening drink before departing for our hotel...what a view! I went for a swim again, walked to shops for some dinner, made steak and veggies, watched tv...and that's today over! Great day!
