We had a nice buffet breakfast at the Crocodile Hotel, and checked out sometime after 10am after Dad took a conference call and we got our stuff out of the room and back to the van! Not that easy transitioning from once place to the other, as half the stuff's in one place and the other half's in the other! Overall our experience at Kakadu was great (though perhaps not as spectacular as we thought it would be??). The hotel was also pretty good (though showing its birthday age at 25 years old this week). We dropped into the very nice Bowali Visitor Centre and purchased a few souvenirs before we left the region.
We headed to Katherine via the Kakadu Highway - Pine Creek is the intersecting town of the Kakadu and Stuart Highways, so we stopped there for lunch in the local park under some cool trees, as again the day was about 33 degrees but we had a bit of breeze so it was pleasant.
We arrived around 4pm at the Big4 Katherine Holiday Park and it is a lovely place with lots of shady trees, a bistro, pool and a nice bar. Mum did the laundry, Renee & Eamon had a swim in the really nice pool, while Dad went into town to get some supplies.
