I really should be sleeping right now, however I feel it necessary to fill all of you in on my yet another absurd day in a forgein country.
First of all, I think I have gotten my entire host family sick. Two of the children didn't go to school and my host mother didn't even feel well enough to sit through an akward breakfast with me. So off to school I went...
Class was quite entertaining again, and over our 1/2 hour break me and Brian engaged in some intense ping pong since it's the only form of entertainment besides stare at other kids you don't share a common language with at Herman-Hesse. I feel like I will be pretty good at ping pong by the time I come home, anyone up for a challenge?
After school we went over to this little restraunt called the Kostbar. I ate some delicious pasta, however my stomach was so upset I couldn't finish my beer :( How sad.. I hate being sick.
I decided to catch the 2:20 bus back to Ahldorf, except wait... there is no 2:20 bus, only a 2:05 so I missed it by 5 minutes. Awesome. Next bus to Ahldorf? 4:20...
So I thought "What to do with my time?" I suppose I will finish my whole 1/2 hour of homework I have for the entire weekend. (Our teacher even asked if it was too much?!) I feel like the really smart kids at Michigan when the teacher gives us our homework assignment and they ask "That's all?"
Anyways, finally made it back and decided I didn't feel very well. Layed down for a bit, then got online looking for some comfort in the new Bones episode. SUPRISE! Apparently, unless you're in the United States you can't get ANY new episodes to stream here off any of the TV channel websites. There goes my only hope of seeing Booth once a week. What am I gonna do? I attempted to watch off another website, and guess what I get? A bunch of viruses... just what I need.
Just in time, I recieved some messages from my friends to meet in Horb for some drinks tonight. Best idea ever, except it was 6:10 and the last bus leaves here at 6:30, and Angelika knocked on my door to tell me dinner was done. So I sat down at the table and told them I was leaving, ate really quickly then booked out the door.
I arrive at this hotel in Horb where my friend Andrew is staying and very dumbly ask the owner of the hotel in german "I search for Andrew Hill." Didn't think that one through long enough...
After waiting a bit, me Drew and Brian take over most likely the only bar in Horb that's open on a Friday night where all the people over 40 like to hang out. We're starting to think that Horb is like Flordia of the U.S., right where all the old people live...
After many beers we decide it's time to catch the Nacht Bus that Andrew called for us and was supposed to be by the train station at 11:25. Never shows, so me and Brian resort to taking cabs back to our boondock cities outside of Horb. My Taxi cost me an outrageous price of 15 Euros (Which is around $18). But it was a good night getting to know each other and we also came to the realization that we still have over six months here. For a night like this with some new friends I don't mind spending a bit of extra money.
Time for sleep though since I have to wake up early again as usual to catch an hour and a half train to Baden-Baden.
Tschuss!
