Anyways, I made it to Stockholm safe and sound. I had to catch a bus to the city center where Cassie was waiting for me. She had already been there for like 3 days before I showed up. So she was pretty much "stockholmed" out. We still managed to do quite a bit of walking before finding our lovely hostel.
It was newly opened so the rooms were extremely nice. Only two downfalls though. One, our mirror wasn't hung on the wall yet, and two our room was located directly next to the front door. This turned out to be a huge point of frustration for us, since every time at any given time someone came in or out the door slammed. This made sleeping in, or taking a nap difficult.
We did lots of walking and exploring the city, which is a lot smaller than I expected it to be. It was still really cute and nice though. One night we ended up at a bar having a few drinks. This was the night that also ended with us in McDonalds accompanied by a really creepy bum that was only speaking Swedish to us. I had to get one of the workers to ask him to get away from us. Crazy people.
We also went to the Vasa Museum, which about a boat that sunk for 300 some years then recovered and restored. It was way cooler than I expected to be. Sadly though, my pictures didn't turn out all that great because it was really dark in the building. Cassie and I will soon be having a picture swapping party though so I'll be able to add some good ones.
One of the nights we made reservations to check out the Ice Bar. It's a bar completely made out of ice! The entrance fee includes a drink that is also served in a cup made of ice. Good thing they give you a ridiculous blue cape with huge gloves to keep you warm. The weird thing about the Ice Bar is that you can only go in for 45 minutes, so you go in with a bunch of people and leave at the same time. Therefore, the first 20 minutes or so is really cool while you take pictures and drink. Once your drink is gone though it gets a little awkward… We did have a guy dancing obnoxiously for us though. Quality entertainment.
Since Stockholm isn't that big I'm sort of glad we weren't there longer than we were. Before we knew it we were on our next plane headed for Copenhagen!
Up Next: Copenhagen, Denmark
