Tuesday 15th September -Vieux-Port

The boat trip back went firstly back to Frioul Island to pick up the people who had had lunch and a lot of workers.
We sat up the bow of the boat this time so I could take some photos and pretty soon the bow space was full of people. One skinny old chap sat down next to Jan between a bollard and a post with crossed legs. When we got back to the Quai he was wedged in and couldn't get himself out of the space. It took two large chaps to lift him vertically over the bollard for him to be able to get off the boat. Lots of clapping and cheering and the old guy just kept on smiling.

We walked up the main street, Canebiere, to the local supermarket, but it was more than that as on the ground floor there were cosmetics, ladies personals pens and paper and books, wine, bags etc and up the escalator to the grocery part of the store. We bought wine and tunaand some ladies things and hurried out into the street.

It wasn't long before Jannie spied a dress shop. Did I mention that she has had her credit card stopped because she entered the wrong answer to a security question on line??
She tried on a mesh top and then picked up another top and said "Is that alright"?? "I'll pay you back"??

With the backpack loaded we trudged back to our apartment weary legs and needing a rest.

Nibbles and wine before a Nicoise Salad for dinner tonight.
