Monday 14th September - Quai de Rive Neuve

Got to the Tourist Bureau and queued up to get our pre purchased 3 Day Marseille Pass which gives us lots of things to see and do whilst we are here.

We now walked back a ways along the Quai in search of a Supermarche. After finding ourselves so close to our apartment we went and asked a local shop owner for directions and quickly we were pointed us in the right direction. Just up past the Cathedral de la Major and along on the right.

Going around foreign supermarkets is fun, mostly trying to guess what the packet says, but getting the stuff you need. We just bought a few essentials, beer, wine, salad stuff, cheese, breakfast cereal and yoghurt, tissues etc €42.

Then it was a trudge up the hill back to home where we had the most delicious lunch, French bread, dressing, ham, tomato and of course a beer.

Boy it was hot and the washing that we had hung on the special patio handrail racks was dry so after lunch it was decided to forgo the hot sun and just lay back and have a bit of a rest.
