Having left Whim Creek we now slowly baked our way to Karratha. With the heat really boiling our water we stopped again in a little town called Roebourne. So....Left Port Hedland at about 7.30. It was good to catch up with Beryl and have a chat. Both Beryl and Gayle and Steve recommended a compulsory stop at a place called Whim Creeek whilst en route to Karratha. Gayle and Steve were train drivers from the mines and were alkso future bike tourers on their newly purchased Triumphs. Great to meet people like this. Ok so sorted out a few issues with this website. Firstly we found that using the mobile app to post blogs is flawed. You cannot send the email notyifications this way. You can only use a pc. So I am on my little acer pc trying to see if it works now. The other thing I found is some people may have given us work emails which have a firewall issue. It appears the phone app does not send out email updates. Hopefully this now works with the router Sandfire roadhouse lives up to it's name ...sand is on fire !!

The days ride is at an end by 11.30. With temperatures heading up close to 40 just gets too hot on the bike. Today marks past the halfway mark of the trip. From here its all the way home for the next few weeks. Sandfire is dustbowl oasis in the middle of nowhere. If not found murdered by the morning we should get an early start towards Port Hedland.
