We left Halls ck with a bit of pace. This was to avoid the sweltering heat of the afternoon. Our plan is to have twi rides of 400 ks to get there early. A little bit of roadkill on the hwy brings the eagles down for a feed. I chose to turn on my hand held Gopro to film them as they fly off when we approach. However I neglected to remember that i'm usually hitting the horn as we approach so they fly away quick and We wont hit them. I had the Gopro in my left hand and steering with my right. Couldnt hit the horn and ended up right upon them before they realised i was there. Close call but a good bit of footage. Arrived at 11.00 at Fitzroy Crossing and set up camp in a nice shaded spot at the River Lodge. Just spent some time in the most secured IGA i have ever seen as we got some groceries. Back at camp for some lunch. The pool and then a nice cool beverage. I'd guess by John's clock we will be asleep by 3.30 this arvo.
