Apparently seven days running makes one week! But we were so inspired by the incredible scenery, any niggles we have begun to experience were easily overcome. What a beautiful day and certainly the most beautiful run yet. What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was the hardest and the wettest - today the sun shone, the hills were kind and the mountains and Lochs breathtaking. Awoke this morning to blue sky and cloud, for the first time...giving us hope that the forecast for snow later in the day might be wrong. Our first 11 mile section took us through some stunning scenery on an undulating road which we found quite hard going. ON THE VERGE!! It was a good day today. The forecast was not good - but what rain we experienced was carried by a wind that came from over our shoulder - so it swept us along and didn't get in our faces. What did get in our faces was the traffic on the infernal A9. What a nightmare this road is. It was narrower today which meant running on the verge much of the way, which was fortunately short and predominantly flat - but very wet and it made the running hard. ...

A most unexpected day. We were kept awake half the night with heavy rain - which was still going strong when the alarm went off (Sonny & Cher - I got you babe!) It prompted us to discuss different approaches to the day, such as running single hours, but in the end Greg just said he would stay near by. As it turned out, we ran the entire day without a single drop of rain, it made the world of difference. We did however have to contend with a very strong wind....
