Steve and Sharron were waiting for us in the carpark which was our start this morning. A quick photo, lots of thank yous and we were off.
It seems to take around 5 miles to get the foot going, but by the last three we were both moving almost freely.
Not the best scenery England has to offer today - Wigan followed by Warrington! Highlight of the day was crossing the 500 mile mark in the centre of Warrington. We took a picture of the most photogenic thing we could find (featured!)
Not the most exciting day really I'm afraid. As if the scenery was uninspiring enough it started raining at lunctime and didn't give up all the way to the campsite - which we chose to run the extra half mile to - which was a mistake because the one thing that did give in was my foot, at 28 miles. Not a happy way to end the day. But when we arrived at the site Greg had parked next to an identical campervan. Also hired from Wild Horizon by a team of cyclists riding Land's End to John O'Groats!
We met up in the restaurant for a drink - Alan, Shaun, Elaine and John. And miracle of miracles - Alan is a physio with a practice in Streatham (just down the road from where I live) and was only too happy to look at my foot and give welcome advice.
We met some other great people today as well. A lovely couple, Phil and Sharon and Emma who kindly donated. And then in a break during the rain, just after Wigan we saw Mark Keyes walking LeJog in aid of MacMillan Cancer - with a huge backpack. A young man with a great sense of adventure and spontaneity - he set off 2 weeks after deciding to do it. We welcomed him in for a cup of hot tea and a sandwich. I love this game - it's such fun meeting all these great characters and feeling such a bond.
Tonight we are enjoying a very well deserved steak dinner in a warm pub as the rain (that Maz assures us is somewhere else) thunders on the glass roof. We thought we ought to take Greg out for the night as he's feeling a bit under the weather and been stuck in the van all day. We do love 'im.

Seb I've tried reading this a few times in an effort to get it right but still can't see how Phil, Sharon and Emma make a lovely couple!
