Leaving The League of Gentlemen behind (you'll have to buy the book) we set off for the start. Scenery is beautiful. Lovely green rolling hills. On our second leg we ran through Shrewsbury - what a lovely old place (see pic). Shame we couldn't stay longer and take a few more photos but our revised schedule means we have to press on not to finish too much after 6.00. On the outskirts we met Peter Gill who was kind enough to sponsor us and has already contacted us on Twitter - thanks Peter! We also met Martin and Lynn in the carpark where we took our second rest. They also made a donation to Cure Parkinson's. Lovely people in Shrewsbury!
As we were getting ready to leave for our final leg there was a knock on the door - it was our Blackheath friend Martyn Longstaff and his grandson Mark. We had a nice chat before heading off up the A49 on our last section of the day. Martyn is hoping to come and run a few miles with us tomorrow.
We enjoyed a good last leg then drove a short distance to our campsite, nestled in the beautiful Shropshire Hills. On arrival the warden suggested that we might like to take a walk as it was such a lovely evening! Hmmm
JT's wife Maz and her school friend Barbara are visiting tonight so we have arranged to meet them in the local Pub. I'm hoping they will have wifi so I can post this - otherwise it's going to be late again. Sorry - blame O2.
So the numbers... We finished on 570 tonight which means we now have only 290 mile to go - woohoo. Now that's worth a pint (or two?).
