Song of the day....Devon, we're in Devon! Extraordinary feeling to think we've run all the way from Scotland to Devon (710 miles to the county border). Our penultimate county - just one more to go.
It wasn't all plain sailing however - we did have a bit of an adventure along the way. We asked Greg to park the van at the 8 mile mark just before Taunton. He gave us the key to let ourselves in so he could go off for a cycle. A few miles into our run he texted us it's location. The sun shone, the birds sang and we missed the turn. It wasn't marked as the map showed (Greg had missed it the first time too apparently)
So we sailed on past the turning only realising a mile further down the road when it was too late to turn back. Never mind we thought we'll find a cafe - but all we ran past was a closed pub. Finally we found ourselves on the busy A38 through Taunton at nearly 9 miles. We worked our way along the verge a while until we spotted a 24hr Asda. We skipped carefully across 2 lanes of traffic, hurdled the central reservation and ran to the other side of the road. Our reward was real coffee, cold bottles of water, crisps and sandwiches all in the comfort of their cafe - oh, and a packet of peas for my foot! We also got sponsored - thanks Edward, Simon and friends! All together quite a treat. And with a bit of careful navigation it cost us no extra distance.
As the weather was holding - for our last run of the day we decided to run a mile extra to make up the mile we lost in Bristol because the van couldn't get down the road we were due to finish in.
Fortunately the last mile sloped gently down past Blundells Private School to our finish point on the outskirts of Tiverton, where we met two lovely runners - Michelle and Mary. Mary is just getting back to running after a bad back - really hope you're running free soon Mary.
The Campsite closes early - at 8.00 and doesn't approve of people going out - so it looks as though it's going to be another quiet night in tonight!
So the stats. We finished tonight on 720 miles with 140 to go. We are now in Devon, our penultimate county. Thanks for all the encouragement folks - its not getting any easier but we are still enjoying ourselves!

steve forsdick so close! You must be getting giddy now.
Janet Will you meet the Olympic flame coming the other way? Think it sets off from Land's End on Saturday.
ChrisP Go easy on the clotted cream chaps...don't want too much excess baggage with you up those hills.... Trust you are avoiding Quantock and Porlock hills? I should... Can hardly believe you are so close to the end...what will you do for an encore? Brillian job chaps....woohoo!!!! p.s. As you ''sailed past' the turning I suggest you ditch the land yacht....
ed from the cafe! best of luck on your last legs!
Mary Humphries Hello again lads. I was planning to see you off from Tiverton this morning but missed you by a few minutes. Never mind! Glad to read that you survived the hills of Devon and that tomorrow you reach Cornwall, your last county. You're doing fantastically well and so nearly there. Will be following your progress down to Land's End. Good luck!
