The last 4 days have been spent at Lake Argyle Resort. This is a beautiful spot with the park overlooking the enormous man made Lake Argyle. The resort is also famous for its infinity pool, which while beautiful was absolutely freezing even in 30 degree heat. We spent time visiting the Durak family homestead. The Durack's were the first farming family in the Kimberley. It was their vision to dam the Ord River to form Lake Argyle and their original homestead was moved piece by piece to higher ground when the dam wall was built. The Lake really is huge and appears like an ocean. We went on a lunch cruise, tasting local cat fish on the BBQ, looking out for crocs and swimming in the much warmer water of the lake. We were also pleased to catch up with our travelling friends Brad and Tracey. Tully and their daughter Karla are so similar in personality. So they fight and bait each other continually but then hug and say how much the love to be together. Ready to move after a good break, will head to a nearby Zebra Rock Mine.
