Another decent drive today to get to Barn Hill Station. About 140km south of Broome. We decided to push further these last few days to keep a couple of days ahead of schedule thinking we might need a couple of extra days after
Broome. Tully has been travelling well and only toward the end of the drive did he get a bit grumpy. He's been good amusing himself in the car, singing, admiring the view and of course tapping away on his iPad. We made it to Barn Hill after about 400kms with the last being a 10km dirt road. The car has handled these few roads really well. Who says you need a big burly 4wd?! The temperature was keeping up and up and by the time we arrived and set up it was well over 30. Parked up on the cliff overlooking the beach, we were all desperate to get in the water. We were told of sharks circling around so we stuck to the safely of the rock pools. The beach is covered in beautiful red rocks making a total contrast to the white sandy beaches down the coast. We cooled off without spotting any sharks and headed back to camp for a well earned rest and to admire the sun setting into the water. Barn Hill is a working station but the caravan area is very separate unlike Pardoo. The amenities are very rustic. Open roof on the showers and toilets allowing little guests (way too many free tree frogs) during late night visits.
