Today we travelled along the Avon Valley to visit both York and Northam, two of WA’s oldest towns which are full of historic buildings. At Northam Fraser was pleased to see some mute swans of which only about 40 exist in the wild in Australia. Both towns have suspension bridges across the river – the one in Northam the longest in Australia and of course we had to bounce cross both of them. Here we go Mum’s friends Kath and Wendy this is a picture with Mum and Dad in it.;]

Glenys The bird app hasn't got a recording for the mute swan......I wonder why????
Dad Sorry Glenys but it is on the app (and duly added to the count!) and they are oddly protected under special laws which include a $4,000 penalty for interfering with a nest - quite bizarre for an introduced species we thinks,
