Christmas was really different! We met up with Midge and Michele who were on an RV park on the edge of the city. The weather was kind and we spent time doing a walking tour of the French quarter which was very interesting with its antique shops and very expensive art galleries. Then the weather changed and it was raining and the wind was really strong so we retreated to the hotel room and watched a movie before going out for a meal in the evening. There weren't many people around but we found some live music and it was very relaxing! New Orleans was interesting as there were lots of street musicians which made for a good atmosphere.
We spent a further night on the state park on the edge of the city before driving north again .
We have spent the last few days with John and Lisa who invited us to spend new year with them and who have been so hospitable, feeding us and taking us for lovely walks and generally spoiling us! It has been amazing to see them again and we can't wait to return the favour when they come to Wales next year.
