The Peninsula CP is a pleasant place to camp. The huge paperbarks with a high canopy deliver superb filtered light. We like it here. So much that we plan to revisit on our way back!

The major event on in Weipa at the time of our planned arrival has meant a minor change to the itinerary - we will now visit Weipa on the return leg of our journey.
Fellow travelers returning from the Cape have suggested that while the alternative route to the Tip is easy, the OTT is not viable especially for trailers. None of us are willing to have water over the bonnet but we will check it out for ourselves! On the good side, the Bloomfield track may now be open.
Highlight today was clearly the Cook Museum.

John G Very poetic description of your "campsite" Al. Good to hear you are really enjoying your trip. Just a reminder that you have the enermous responsiblity of a certain trophy awaiting your return. This is just a reminder of your REAL priorities. JG
