Well we are in Cooktown! Been an easy day & arrived around 12.30. Setup camp in pleasant, treed & quiet area. S&Y are close to the amenity block so they are happy too!

Had a look around the place. The grassy hill area overlooking the waterways has been given a major facelift since '96. No grass left - it's all concrete. Some like it but I miss the naturalness of the original lookout. Good news is that the Peninsula Development Road is reportedly in good nick at the moment.

I feel like we are climbing a mountain & have reached base camp & about to make the final ascent!

Highlight today is to be in Cooktown.
