FARFRUMWURKEN
We arrived here in Guadalajara this morning at 5:30 a.m. just as the sun was breaking the horizon. It was a longer trip that I thought it had to be given that we had to go from Vancouver to Portland, OR then San Francisco and then to Guad. We basically flew all night with two stops along the way.
John and Catherine came all the way out to Guadalajara to pick us up and get us back into Ajijic. As I've said you guys are AMAZING. Once we finished the 30 minute or so drive into Ajijic we headed for breakfast and then a grocery run at the local Wal-Mart. We needed to stock the fridge with some essentials before we headed to the house.
As we pulled up to our house in the Vista Allegra resort we were impressed with what Catherine and John had connected us with. This place is fantastic. The owner is from Regina and has this house here which will be our home for the next month.
With no sleep for the past 24 hours we were keen to get a nice shower and some shut-eye but it seemed that we had NO hot water. What could I do - I needed a shower badly. The pool at the complex must have HOT water I thought - so off we treked - setting off down the hill in the complex to the pool area - they must have a shower.
Yes they did. Turning the taps - again nothing but cold (ok cool) water. I thought I need this badly so under the facet I went - god was it cold - but all in all it did the job and headed home to hopefully fall asleep on the couch watching the Ladies Open on our Shaw Cable big screen.
It has rained a little on and off today but it's nothing we didn't expect given it's the rainy season. The locals say that it rains at night which may be true but there's also been some on and off this afternoon but generally blue skies prevail. We are off to Costco tomorrow for the main grocery list and we've also been invited to one party tomorrow evening to watch Mexico in their next World Cup match. I've tentatively accepted that I'll be taking Bridge lessons with Catherine and Deb's interested in the Zumba workouts which happens three days a week here.
Randy's invited me to play some golf in the next few days - so all's good in this area as well. I'll update things as they develop down here in Paradise.
