FARFRUMWURKEN
Well - tonight it was off to Jocotepec (He-coat-e-pec) for dinner at a 4-Star Mexican Dining establishment. I'm not sure of the name but when I come to think of it, I doubt that this place really didn't have a name. Don from Texas had been there before and thought that we should all make another night of it. So off we went to Jocotepec to what was "all the meat you can eat" - cooked on rebar.
It was truly a very basic restaurant, or at best a road side cafe that specialized in cooking beef, lamb, pork and sausage on pieces of rebar stuck into a big fire pit that's located at the front of the restaurant. With Deb just getting better over her recent stomach disorder, it was very interesting to watch her face as we took our seats.
The cervesa was great, the meat was great but that was it - no other options, apparently this place is only open for Saturday and Sunday and only until they run out of meat. I guess we missed the re-fried beans and coleslaw as all there was, was meat and beer, The total cost for Deb and I, all in was $150P or $12.00. I don't think we'll be going back on this trip anyway.
Given that we rode with Terry and Bernie, they kindly drove us into the town of Jocotepec so that we could see their Malecon area and a little bit of the town. All the locals were out with their families which seems to be the norm here on weekends. They were there for picnics, a little swimming in Lake Chapala and just walks in the nice cool evening.
Tomorrow morning is our Mother's Day Celebration at the Club House. The men are cooking Pancakes, Eggs and Bacon with some sweets for dessert which starts at 11:00 tomorrow.
I'll keep you posted and Tom....I'm working on that Organization Chart for all the locals here just so you'll know who's who.
Again, thanks for reading and stay turned for further updates.
