Day 348 (Monday 17th November 08)

Luckily woke up to a much nicer day. Went off to some of the Lord of the Rings sites and went for a walk to take some photos and try and find the exact point. We then headed up to Arrowtown stopping at where they do the Shotover Jet on the way. Looked really good fun but funds have dwindled so no chance! Arrowtown was a cute old village. Had a walk through and went down by the river which they also used in Lord of the Rings. Then through the Crown Ranges to Wanaka. We weren't sure if we were going to make it as when we were going up the steep mountains the petrol light was on for quite a while. Luckily we went downhill before it did all run out! Another nice lake and mountains all around in Wanaka. Had something to eat and then went to New World to do some much needed food shopping. Parked up and did some study then went for a walk along the lake. Once it was dark went in search of somewhere to park up for the night, couldn't really find anywhere that was great so ended up parking by the marina where there was a Maui campervan parked. Just hoped for the best!
