Day 337 (Thursday 6th November 08)

A very early start to be ready for the minibus to pick us up for the airport at 6am. Only just made it in time before we picked up more people and were then dropped at the airport. Checked in straight away and luckily seemed to get away with extra luggage! Had something to eat and then went through security to wait. A good flight with Air New Zealand, then had a long wait in the passport control queue, hoping we will be able to get to Wicked to pick up our new campervan before they close up! Once we had collected our bags Em had to empty the bottom of hers to get out her walking boots to show the customs guy. We were soon through and went to ask at the information what was the best way to get to Wicked. Into a shuttle bus and got dropped right outside the door. By now it was about 4pm so we thought we had plenty of time. Unfortunately the girl sorting our van didn't think so as apparently they closed at 4:30pm. Luckily she said she would sort it all out though. Ended up taking a while as they had down on their system that we had paid our deposit in NZ dollars but we had paid that amount but in AU dollars. After her calling a couple of people that was finally sorted. Once she had put through the payment we still thought the amount was too much and it turned out that they had charged us an extra day so they will hopefully refund us the difference! She went and got our van that was called Bullsh*t and started showing us around only to find extra friends (ants!) were wanting to share the space. Luckily she didn't want to give us a van full of ants so then sorted out another van to give us - Hump Puppy. Luxury compared to Hoki Poki!! Once we were finally sorted we went to Pak N Save to do some food shopping and then fill up with petrol. Parked up in the Botanical Gardens to sort out our bag and pack things away a bit. Had a sandwich and went off to find somewhere to sleep for the night. Found a nice spot by the river which was cool.
