Day 340 (Sunday 9th November 08)

Made the most of the power in the campsite and studied a bit in the morning after a nice hot shower! Dropped the keys back at the dairy and drove to Lake Tekapo through Geraldine. Amazing scenery and amazing coloured lake. After taking some pictures went to have a look around the village. Bought a tasty sandwich from one of the shops and then used the internet. Headed onto Lake Pukaki. We could see the rain coming across the mountains so took some pictures quickly and then headed up the road to Mount Cook Village. The mountains were awesome but the view was disappearing fast. Soon it was pouring with rain and once we got to Mount Cook Village we saw that there would be nowhere for us to park up for the night. Drove back down the road to one of the information centres and went into find out what the weather forcast was. It wasn't looking like it would clear up until later the next day so decided to head onto Twizel to find somewhere to stay for the night. Got to the bottom of Mount Cook road again and then went off the road to see the Lord of the Rings site. Not a very good view with the low clouds but awesome to see one of the sites that they have filmed at. Got to Twizel and cooked up something to eat then found somewhere to stay. Hoping the weather will brighten up tomorrow.
