Tuesday
The weather is a bit better today, overcast but not raining. We have breakfast and tidy up then head up to the tip. The road goes through some really beautiful rainforest and just before we get to the parking. Lot we pass the abandoned resort. Parking the car we gather all our gear - water bottle, back packs, sunscreen and hats and head for the climb over the rocks. The tide is coming in so we can't go via the beach. It's quite a big climb but relatively easy as the rocks appear to make steps just when needed. It is very windy at the top but the view in every direction is sensational. Hats are taken off as we climb down to the sign welcoming us to the northern most tip of mainland Australia.
While we were taking our photos and enjoying the view Pat and George - the couple we met at Bramwell Junction - arrive. We have a quick chat and a short break before we go back over the rocks to the cars. Heading back to camp we stop at the Croc Tent spending big buying T-shirts, stickers and stubby holders and then in at Seisia to book our Thursday Island and Horn Island tour.
When we get back to camp we hear that they have a bar and restaurant. I start some much needed washing but just as it is all on the rain starts again. I wait in the queue to load it into the one dryer while the boys and Karen visit the bar. When I arrive they have caught up with huge Gwandalan guys again. We sit and talk about our adventures so far and take not of the places they recommend and those to avoid while they do the same based on our stories.
By the time we return to camp for dinner we don't feel like cooking so it's soup for me and more beer for Martin. We talked for a bit and then watched a slide show of Karen's photos.
