Monday
As usual we are packed and ready to go around 9am. Unlike other departures though we have a bit to do in town before we actually get underway. The first stop is at the Camooweal. Butcher to pick up the meat we ordered and pack it in the fridge. Then to fuel up and on to Coles to pick up some bread, fruit and other groceries.
We hadn't had breakfast and had talked about getting pies but at the last minute went for Macca's (which gives me a chance to get some macaroons for later on). Then it's off again heading south to Boulia - about a 3 to 4 hour drive.
We noticed the change in the scenery from rocky hills to wide open plains but as always - red dirt. We stopped to take some photos of the stark landscape before getting to Boulia. We'll stay here 2 nights so will look around the town tomorrow.
Dinner tonight is chops from the butcher and they are delicious. It' been warm again today (singlets and shorts) although very windy. As soon as the sun sets it gets quite cool so it's showers and into the camper after dinner.
