Deaf Guyana
Hey Everyone,
I must apologise for my long delay in writing the e-postcards for you to read and see what have been happening on our side of the world. Well I am sure that u all have enjoyed looking at the photos as i have been updating all the pictures on it so now focusing on the postcards!! :S will be a long night for me.
First of all want to focus on the Hindu wedding!! It was a great day for the marriage couple and for myself because i never experience what the hindu wedding are like. My friend from the dentistry centre have asked me, ashton, sarah and annestijn to come to her cousin's wedding. we are happy to accept it as we all never been to the hindu wedding apart from ashton who went to one wedding when he was around 5 years old!!
We had some problem with clothing cos Hindu banned leather and all of our shoes are leather!! lol but end up with flip flop with nice smart shirt and trousers, everyone wear nice clothes. we went to the wedding which it is only 10 mins walk from our homes.
Arrived the temple and our friend was waiting at the front entrance for us!! sweet of her! :D she told me and ashton to go in first and took our shoes outside before enter the room, lots of people was there already and we made ourselves comfortable by sitting a vacant space on the floor and it got a good view to the front of the room. we are surprised to see prime minister of Guyana sitting front of us!! with one bodyguard! amazing isnt it?!
The wedding room was very colourful and entertaining with cultural musical and dances. It was brilliant experience and we watched the bride having her ritual first before going into back room then groom came in from the entrance and did his ritual, bride joined him for unite ritual before the pastor declared them man and the wife! it took an hour and half. it was good and very different from the normal wedding!
The buffet was extraordinary!! there aint any plates for us to use, they gave us a huge palm leaf which they put different foods in the leaf and we used our hand (after washing our hands!!) and eat it from the leaf! very different and brilliant!! lol wouldnt mind to use it for my wedding if bride accept it!! lol. talked to few people that we know and some came to me and say that they saw me on the TV!! ah well almost normal for me now!! lol
We went to after wedding reception but stay for an hour or so, watching everyone making a speech about the newlyweds, annestijn interpreted for me!! nice of her, and we talked to our friends and had few drinks and listen to hindu music which it is f***ing loud as there are mountain of speakers right next to us!! :S but its wicked to feel the vibration!! lol then we left at 6 and walked a few mins down the road to home.
It was an amazing and different experience. I would not mind to go to similar wedding in the future! :D
Hope all is well for everyone back in England!!
Missing u all loads
